My name is Cristina, and I'm a senior PR major at Boston University. When I graduate in May, I'm moving back to New York and will be looking to start my career in the fashion industry.
But - until I land my dream job, I must at least put my shopping skills to good use...
Like almost every other girl, I lived for the fashion in my magazines from when I was young enough to read. As I grew older, and my Seventeen turned into Harper's Bazaar, I realized I have much more than an interest in fashion - it's a passion. A passion for fashion sounds cheesy - but it's true. I want to work in fashion where I feel a real dedication to and respect for my job, those I work with and work for. I want to immerse myself completely in the things I love - beautiful clothes, beautiful people, and beautiful art. Above it all, I want to create, inspire, and influence through fashion.
Through my previous retail and professional experience, including internships with BVLGARI and in the non-profit arena, I know I'll excel working for a luxury brand or company in fashion PR and branding, visual merchandising and/fashion coordination. I'm seeking positions that will incorporate brand PR, event and fashion coordination, merchandising, and brand/product management. I love the bottom-line and branding aspect of working in fashion, the "behind-the-scenes" activities that influence what the world sees, covets, and consumes. I love meeting new people, finding new designers, and discovering innovative fashion I've never seen before. And- I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.
